Quidel

Quidel is a U.S.-based manufacturer of diagnostic devices for ophthalmology.

InflammaDry is a cost-effective, disposable test that requires no additional equipment to administer or interpret results. In just 10 minutes and through two simple steps, it detects whether dry eye symptoms are caused by inflammation.

Assembly of the test:

  • It uses direct sampling microfiltration technology to identify elevated MMP-9 protein levels in tear samples from the conjunctival sac.
  • Remove the protective cap (F) from the test. Use the open test cartridge within one (1) hour.
  • Assemble the test by carefully placing the sample collection pad (C) into the sample transfer window (G).
  • Press firmly until the test is secure. A double click will confirm proper assembly.
  • Immerse the absorbent tip (E) in the buffer vial for at least 20 seconds.
  • Remove the absorbent tip (E), replace the protective cap (F), and lay the test horizontally on a flat surface for 10 minutes.

Wait at least two (2) hours after applying any anesthetic or topical eye medication before collecting the sample.

Sample Collection:

  • Expose the palpebral conjunctiva.
  • Gently dab the collection pad (6–8 times) across different areas of the palpebral conjunctiva.
